Our Specialists

Phil Ensign

I can design, write and manage the development of large scale, cutting-edge geological and geophysical software. My areas of expertise include geological and velocity model building and geophysical processing. I  am the Chief Software architect. I have a PhD in theoretical Physics and 30 year of oil industry experience.

Andreas Rueger

I have 30 years of industry experience, including work as a Chief Geophysicist, Adjunct Professor and book author.  I can help develop world-class geophysical software, perform advanced seismic data analysis and teach advanced scientific topics. My areas of expertise are Machine Learning, velocity model building, seismic anisotropy, seismic imaging and processing.

Paul Peterman

I have been involved in oil exploration for the better part of 39 years. After working in seismic data processing with Chevron, I moved into the exploration software industry with Landmark Graphics where I was involved in training and technical development for seismic processing, depth conversion and depth migration. I then transitioned to Halliburton Consulting working with projects in depth migration, AVO, and pore pressure analysis.

Bob Basker

Before joining Landmark Graphics in the early days of the ProMAX (now SeisSpace) processing system, I spent 15 years in seismic processing, responsible for 2D and 3D land and marine projects. As a product champion for Landmark’s processing applications, I was deeply involved in testing, workflow design, validation and documentation. I maintained and enhanced training materials and data, and was the lead trainer globally, delivering courses and consulting in more than 40 countries across five continents

Dave Champion

I earned an MS in Information Systems from the University of Colorado in 1997, and in 2000 joined the Landmark Software and Services division of Halliburton as a senior developer on the DecisionSpace platform. In 2014 I left Landmark to take a lead role at a large financial services firm, where I established the implementation pattern for the migration of its investment platform to a public cloud environment. My forte is enterprise software development, but at Landmark my focus was on building and refining the DecisionSpace user interface and plugin architectures.

Dan Grygier

I have been working in the discipline of seismic data processing geophysics for over four decades. I started in the fledgling 3D group at GSI in the early 80s in Dallas and then spent time in Denver doing some borehole seismic fracture detection processing followed by a 3 year adventure in Muscat Oman as the Area Geophysicist for the PDO processing center. After repatriating in 1994 I worked briefly with Western Geophysical in Denver before shifting gears into the commercial software business as a trainer for ProMAX at Advance Geophysical. I spent over 20 years working on ProMAX and SeisSpace including Landmark Depth Imaging as a trainer, tester, project and program manager, evangelist and recognized product expert.
